A proven history of helping kids & families...

Vision

  • Every child grows up in a healthy, safe world free from exploitation and/or abduction.

Mission

  • Educating and assisting families and communities to address and prevent the exploitation of children, by putting online and in-person safety information in the hands of every man, woman and child.

Values - we believe:

  • It’s a kid’s job to be a kid; it's the responsibility of adults to see every child as someone who may need their help and protection.
  • Children are never responsible for their own victimization. They often lack the understanding of exploitation, and therefore never "go willingly."

Programs and Services

  • Prevention Education: information delivered to adults, children, teens and community coalitions or agencies.
  • Helpline Assistance: support, resource referrals and advocacy for the families and communities who experience a missing or exploited child or teen.

Funding and Staffing

  • With the increased demand for JWRC services, your financial support will allow JWRC to provide more services to the more than 3,100 families who call our helpline each year; to more than 76,000 who hear our online & in-person safety presentations each year or attend community notification meetings.
  • Is there someone at the other end of the phone or e-mail, who can help you with online or in-person exploitation questions or concerns?  Who can help if your child goes missing?  JWRC is there for you!

Important Facts

  • 1 in 5 girls and 1 in 10 boys are sexually exploited by age 18 and less than 35% of those who ever report it to parents and authorities.
  • 1 in 33 youth receive aggressive solicitations while online by someone who wants to meet the child in person

What Parents Say

  • "As a parent, it’s difficult to think about someone who wants to sexually exploit or take my child, but it’s an issue JWRC has helped me learn to address with my children in positive, healthy ways..."
  • "I was surprised to learn that those most likely to exploit or abduct a child are most likely known to the child, family or neighborhood; the vast majority are not strangers..."
  • "With all the media attention on abductions and sexual predators, I’m afraid to let my kids go out of my sight!  Yet JWRC has helped me realize the importance of doing just that, once we practice what-if scenarios that prepare us for anything..."
